Christmas might be over for many now, but in some countries and religions, it’s not. Not until January 6 (or a Sunday following that, if it falls on another day of the week), which is Epiphany.

And so, I present to you a video of a children’s choir singing in a mall. Hearing angelic voices sing while shopping adds to the holiday cheer, but in a mall in Belgium, that pastime of listening to them turned ugly.

In this publicity stunt by De Opvoedingslijn, a hotline for parents with out-of-control kids, the children sing demeaning lyrics to Christmas songs with angelic voices, I mean, angelic voices with devil horns.

They sing, “Silent Night.” But the “Silent Night” turns out to be a version that makes Franz Xaver Gruber turn in his grave. The lyrics depict children smoking weed, stealing beers (and rum, as the word “Bacardi” suggests) from the Ali Baba night shop, and urinating at an elderly neighbor’s front yard. Also, they sing about committing arson in an elementary school and inhaling glue for fun.

And the performance gets even worse. The choir insults red-haired children to the tune of “Jingle Bells”, telling them to go back to ballet school and cry with their mothers. They tell them to give them their mp3 players and run, because they might stab or pepperspray them.

Fortunately, it ends with them singing to parents about the hotline.

Watch this video - if you are bullied as a kid before and the songs resembled your bad memories, chime in by reblogging.
